I’m Joseph Carroll from San Francisco, CA.
As a business development professional I have a breadth of sales, marketing, and product management experience for online marketplaces. In April of 2019 I co-founded Brandmo, a disruptive new domain name marketplace and crowd sourced acquisition platform. Prior to Brandmo I spent three years as a Director at Flippa, where I ran the popular Websites Marketplace. While in charge of this business unit we increased total transaction value by $85M and helped thousands of entrepreneurs buy and sell internet companies and other digital assets.
After Flippa I moved to Mexico and continued to dabble in the web acquisitions space spending just about a year building out a new internet M&A platform at Dealflow Brokerage which was featured on the #1 page of Product Hunt upon launch.
At California State University, Northridge I received a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Business Law and a minor in Economics.
Outside of my studies, I managed to start an eCommerce business with one of my best friends and the thrill of generating online income was exhilarating. We later sold that business, which introduced me to the world of web acquisitions and led to my interest in business acquisitions and exits.
Personal Interests
I enjoy staying active and getting outdoors, and I typically run five miles per day four to five times per week. My goal for 2019 is to keep my average mile time under eight minutes, and I’m hovering around 08:04 as of the time of this writing!
I’m also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, and while competing for Esteem BJJ I captured a couple of gold medals. I also recently completed my first triathlon and I am already preparing for the next one and always looking for new training partners.
Causes I’m passionate about
I am an avid supporter of youth sports. Shout out to Alpha Sport Fitness, shout out to Limitless Fitness, and shout out to Esteem BJJ. These organizations are all doing a lot for the youth in the community by teaching kids an intelligent approach to self-defense and instilling discipline, perseverance, and integrity.
